Full time: Hours are 30 or more per week
Part time: Hours are less than 30 per week, regular pattern of weekly work
Casual: There may be weeks when there is no work available e.g. lawn-mower
Contract: The work will be done by a company or individual who does similar work for other organisations e.g. window cleaning.

Trial period is useful to assess whether the employee has the necessary skills and temprament for a job.
